Sweet Child

Sweet child of my child, my life's second chance. Once again to be four, to run naked and dance. To believe in magic, to expect only good. To seek out life's wonders and be understood. Teach me to wear wings, may I share your crown. Wrap a silk scarf around me, let it be my ball gown. Make a fort out of blankets, breathing wishes like air. Send the monsters away, believe all things are fair. Wrap your arms up around me, fill my face with your kisses. Fill me up with your magic, I will grant all your wishes. If you think that true joy, has long passed you by. Find a child, open heart and you too can fly!

Additional Notes:
I wrote this about my granddaughter who was 4 at the time. I was entranced by her sponge like nature, she just soaked up everything the world had to give. I wanted to taste that kind of joy again, she made it possiable.
