A Valentine Poem For My Love

My dearest Lorie, how I wish I could be with you now. But since I can’t, I’ll send my love the best way I know how. I’ll weave such love into these words that when they’re read you’ll know how much it is you mean to me and how I love you so. A flower they will give to you, a song for you they’ll sing. They are the symbols of my love, like your engagement ring. But they’re a pale reflection of a love that burns like fire. Each moment spent with you just fans the flame of my desire. They say the gift is in the giving.  Now I know that’s true. You gave my life true meaning when I gave my love to you. This day won’t come again for us, not like it is right now. Before God, friends and family we’ll stand and take a vow to spend a lifetime giving all the love that’s in our heart. Until our dying day may nothing ever let us part. I know this day is Cupid’s day and he deserves his due. But I thank God for giving me this special love for you. Happy Valentine’s Day Sweetheart!
