Compelling

Slowly awakened, deliciously awakened by the faint aroma of our love playing lightly upon my senses, I spy lingering yet on our bedroom table last night's poems, which became in their time a gentile field of late summer breezes; Su Tung P'o had been compelling then,              but        you more so  as his lines became flesh.

Additional Notes:
Su Tung P'o (1036-1101) is generally considered one of China's greatest poets; certainly one of my favorites.
