Symphony

Moon’s light trapped by time and mist Paints a broad finger’s mark Across the whitecapped lake Creating a Staccato of movement. The storm begins, landscaping my mind With memory, lightening flashes bright And thunder typanies in answer. Baroom! Baarooom!! Barroooom!!! The rising winds whistle through the woods Thrumming the birches, playing wild Scherzandos With their delicate branches Tossing their leaves in raptures. Reaching, moon pulled, responsive, dancing Resilient reeds by the stream bow in unison, Piping a brilliant descant to the wind’s song Singing counterpoint to the thunder’s drumming.  Barrrooom! Baarrroom! Barrooommmm!
