Picture of Beauty As I look at the picture I hold in my hand I see Jesus portrayed as a most handsome man But it's His beauty within that matters to me His beauty that let Him be nailed to a tree Beauty and grandeur this artist did see That he stroked on his canvas most exquisitely But it's His beauty within I most understand His beauty that accepted my nails in His hands Surely a handsomer man could not be displayed As the artist saw Jesus his canvas relayed But the beauty I see no hand can define The beauty that He gave His life for mine Though the artist I envy for a talented hand I hope he sees Jesus as I understand He would see as I do His beauty within His beauty that let Him die for my sin |
