To Be Humane

We sat there in acquiescence as though we truly thought, that the answer to the question could be so easily bought. We call ourselves humane as if we really care, and yet each day we hear of need, and fail to give our share. We hear of people starving with no place to lay their head but still we have no problem, for we are housed and fed. If each of us could light a candle against hunger, against pain, the fire would be so great that the world could see the flame. Then perhaps the goals we set for peace we might obain, perhaps at this point we, could truly be humane.

Additional Notes:
We can sit back and think to do many things, but if we do nothing, then the thoughts just die.
