America "America the Beautiful" What happened to our claim? A country started years ago based on Jesus's name Our founding fathers set a course of how our life should be Starting with the principles of Christianity A nation that prospered so, until the judgement of some fools Fools that wrote the law that took God out of our schools While we were on Jesus' side, for Him we faced all foes Through Him we had victory, without Him we have woes I wonder where it all will end, when will our leaders see With Jesus we were standing tall, now we're on our knee Greed, hate and violence are some reasons for our strife Did America forget the reason that Jesus gave His life? Once we stood strong and proud for all the world to see That was when we had our eyes on the Man from Galilee Jesus is the only way to prevent our country's loss Let's give America back to Him, place her at the Cross "America the Beautiful" It's not too late to keep that claim Jesus is the only way to take this country out of shame |

I wrote this poem many years ago, perhaps prompted by the hand writing on the wall.
Removing God and prayer from our schools, and legalized abortion finally warrented
me to speak out against the travistry that our nation is now in. I know that a
great many, much, much more talented poets than I could ever hope to be will not
agree with me. But please should you judge my poem, do it without hostility.
