"HUNTING"

Frozen in fear A deer in its track.... The end so near A trigger's pulled back. A second's delay Crackling sounds underfoot. A deer runs away... A match strikes a boot. A wait in the stand... Pull out a chew. Patience steadies a hand In early morn's dew. A shot rings clear.... A heart stops the sound. The end of fear... A deer hits the ground.     12-
