Unforgivable Deeds

Pride, love, and honor are fragile things when they are broken we wear our conscience like a ring. Screaming, crying, frantically searching for rest our conscience weighs heavy with the guilt it manifests. A lifetime of shadows, self-torment, and guilt our hearts begin to shrivel, our souls crumble and wilt. We can hide from all else but not from ourselves no matter our stature, our age or our wealth. Haunted by past mistakes, never to be freed this is the punishment for unforgivable deeds. Remember these things while still in your youth remember this poem and heed to its truths. These are the punishments I so unwontedly know these are the punishments for crimes to the soul.
