#60 Five a.m. in the living room

Creak. Creak and groan. Sound out of wood, a spontaneous wood spasm or caused by phantom pressure?  Sound from a hundred year old, rocking chair's now imagined sway. Family heirloom, receiver of a thousand related bottoms. Chair with an aura of permanence exudes suggestion of family pride. Who got up? Who sat down? Is that you, greatgrandfather Landreth? Do you sit there often? Is that heaven?
