Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, mulberries - Pillsbury’s', too All were arranged and so temptingly placed that I didn’t quite know what to do. Apples, bananas, papayas and limes with some lemons and peaches were there. Over beside the pineapples I spied some nice mangos to spark the affair. Oranges, tangerines, paw-paws and plumbs lay according to size in a row. Pears, avocados, and grapes with no seeds joined with raisins to highlight the show. Cashews, pistachios, walnuts, pecans and some peanuts were laid out with care. Pretzels and chips next to outrageous dips marked the end of the first round of fare. Kaiser rolls, sourdough, buttermilk cakes, and huge biscuits were grouped with plain breads. Butter beans, yellow corn, lettuce and squash, were all circled with huge cabbage heads. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs and buns came with ketchup and mustard for spice. Large onion rings and French fries cut like strings bordered lightly baked hash browns - so nice! Round steak, smoked turkey, baked ham, tenderloin, rack of lamb and veal Parmesan, too Swam in brown gravy so rich and so thick that it almost obstructed my view. Catfish, red lobsters, shrimp cocktails and clams lay by sushi and rare escargot. If not your style (or if you’re in denial) there was salad, and yes, sweet ‘n’ low. Angels’ food, devils’ food, seven-up cakes, and fine cobblers with ice cream on top Came with glazed doughnuts and cherry delights; ‘twas a feast that did not seem to stop. I took one of each ‘til my arms couldn’t reach and the tray I had was overloaded. It tasted so good that I ate all I could; then I fell on my back and exploded!
