Poet and Poem

Some words, like lover's breath caress my mind in syllables fine tuned, and sing my soul to pulsing thoughts of dreams, designs and patterns not completed, tales untold. Then I, a lover torn with hopeless need do look about in frantic anguish, reach and tear my heart and memory, helpless bleed the song's refrain until soul's veil is breached. Word on word, I touch the dreams and build a structure where we two can join and blend into both dreamer and the dream fulfilled, thus may I mortal limits then transcend.     This finite flesh will surely die in time,     my dreams may live forever set in rhyme.
