Autumn Scherando

The whirling leaves of Autumn dance mid-air, blown softly round my lonely April child and gently fall to earth, without despair. They skip about her chestnut, tousled hair, she imitates them, twirling, spinning, while the whirling leaves of Autumn dance mid-air. Alone, she dances without thought or care the moment is enough to bring a  smile, and gently fall to earth, without despair. I watch her as she looks in wonder there At all the woodland magic flying wild:  The whirling leaves of Autumn dance mid-air. When she too falls, (her life will not be spared By cancer's fire), they'll dance that soul fragile and gently fall to earth without despair.   I feel her child's pure soul will come to share That free Scherzando wind song, undefiled: The whirling leaves of Autumn dance mid-air and gently fall to earth without despair.
