The Depths

It's an elaborate and complex  Web of all that is bought and sold, Flowing as the Immanent Will Would have, waiting to be controlled; I see't all from atop my perch, But falling, slipping, sinking, down, And what is it I am to get  For trading in my judgement sound? A piercing from an arrow's head Let loose by the Venusian Spawn; Is the potential payoff worth The risk of becoming his pawn? In case of worse coming to worst, To you everything I bequeath: For what I see on top is nought Unless there's something underneath.

Additional Notes:
This is my first submission, and please be honest, brutal if necessary. "see't" is deliberate. I started writing it as a love poem and it kind of morphed.
