My Spring Doe The sky rains down celestial fire kindling, for you, my budding desire and lighting, aflame, the funeral pyre of dark-cold months in platonic mire Budding trees, no more, look down to weep for leaves, curled and brown in tears, for lovers of mine, I drown 'till you and Spring come lift my frown Flowers, beneath the melting snow, grip the earth; begin to grow as to my heart, from under woe grips verdant love for my spring doe Dew-drops gather on brittle moss; purge it gently of winter's frost as beads of your affections--not one is lost-- my heart collects to lift its dross From brown to green, from gray to blue, sunlight, leaf-buds, flowers, dew Spring has made all things anew for sake of simile to my love for you |
Additional Notes:
I'm really not a poet, and so I don't know what goes into a good poem.
My most nagging questions would be in regard to punctuation and capitalization.
Please be critical.
Thanks,
Me
