"Stuff"

Most of us don't realize we're carrying all that "stuff" Around, locked deep inside, that hurts.  Haven't we had enough? That stuff we let determine how we act or think and play, That makes us each dysfunctional, on some level, every day. This stuff has been affecting us, on our sub-conscience level, With incorrect perceptions from the past.  We need a bevel To even out ideas - improve communication skills. Then we can share experiences and feelings more at will. A person who "turns off" their feelings so they won't feel pain, Is non-participating.  There's no growth when we restrain Those painful (negative) thoughts and feelings.  There is no release. They're merely stuffed down, deep inside, and we can have no peace! It does no good pretending that "we're fine and life is great", For feelings, if denied and buried, just accumulate And have a power and life all of their own.  They will destroy Our health, our minds and spirits lest God's power we employ. "Pretense" is but layered lies which cover up the facts Before a truth can be revealed so that we can relax. "Avoidance" lets us dance around the "(w)hole" and not look in, To find a place that's comfortable where we may then begin. Our problems from the past are like strong onions causing tears, Which sting and build up layers upon layers with the years. We must take off the "skin", peel off each layer that's inside, Until we see there's nothing left, and all our tears are dried.
