So You're a Writer

So you're a writer; and went to class, to unlock words built to critical mass. You went up to the Prof and for a fee, heard: "That's nice, I'll give you a C." So you're a writer; and went to work, to use unlocked words driving you berserk. You went up to the Editor with your page, heard: "That's nice, but you're not the rage." So you're a writer; and got married, with ill chosen words the two of you parried. You went up to your mate with a love note, heard: "That's nice dear, but you missed the boat." So you're a writer; about to retire, a lifetime of work has quelled the fire. You went up to your boss saying my work is done, heard: "That's nice, now go have some fun." So you're a writer; on your final trip, with another's words in a newspaperclip. You went up to God asked: "Let me keep living." Heard: "That's nice, just be glad I'm forgiving."
