Precious

Eyes so sad; yet so big and brown, On the young face; the lips wear a frown. The tears well up then roll down the cheek, What is the cause of this time so bleak? The lips start to tremble as she tries not to cry, Seeing this scene makes my heart want to die. Short breaths of air; trying to maintain control, To not see her cry is her determined goal. Its breaking my heart to see this child cry, So without hesitation; I have to ask why? Through short sobs of air; her answers not clear, So with a loving hug she whispers it in my ear. “I love you daddy…do you have to go?” Without even thinking; I smile and say ”no” I take the day off with this child of mine… I give her what she needs, Its called “Quality Time”.
