Muse Hunting

My pencil hovers ready above the blank page, but there they both stay- The extra room is empty with the curtains drawn- My muse has gone away. I’ve searched for her in mystery books, and looked for him in France- I’ve probed inside my cowboy boots, and performed a sacred dance. I’ve traveled to Dharamsala and spun those prayer wheels round and round- I’m sure she thinks it’s amusing, but there’s no musing to be found! Just when I give in to moping, sure she’s forever lost and doesn’t care- I look back down at the page in my lap, and find it no longer bare.
