Hometown Respite

How's the work been up your way? Business here's been slow, Just laid off Billy Saturday, I had to let him go. Deb's back in for treatment, We thought she had it beat, She's hanging in there like a pro, But hear she still can't eat. And Mike's wife had another, The fifth, I think, this one, Their girls were in here yesterday, Mike finally got his son. That beat up house on Cutter's Cross, Is coming down this week, Used to be the Miller's place, The white one, by the creek. And Joe's son joined the Navy, That kid was his right arm, Don't know what he's gonna do, 'bout running that old farm. Oh...you noticed something's missing, Had to put down good ol' Jack, Hey, let me get that bait for you, I've got it out in back. Well, good to see you're doing well, Stop by and visit more, It's always good to see your face, At Thompson's General Store.
