The Long Leather Coat

The lights are down low and he walks into the room Face and shadow blend, long leather coat and mystery You know the man I speak of The one that makes a woman check her hand to see if she is married Makes her heart melt and her pulse race Every woman's head turns, "Please God! Let him be single!" He just walks on past, like he doesn't even see them Finally he reaches me and just for a second I can't breath But in that second, silence speaks volumes It speaks of unfelt touches, unkissed lips, and silent screams of ecstasy I smile up at him, and there on his face, is the smile that could break a thousand hearts And here I am willing to give him mine My soul, that he seems to see into, wants to become one with him My heart races from desire and fear I could, if I allowed myself, fall into those soul searching eyes and drown But awe what a death, to die of oneself and become one with your love Did I say love? What I mean is.......What do I mean? Is love a phone call that can make my life right again? Or is it the ability to make me laugh when I am crying? Or maybe, the ability to just listen when I need to cry? In one second, that one silent second, all of these thing rush through my mind And as I look across the table at him, my friend, my companion, and much more I know deep in my heart that love is what I've been missing What I've been longing for my whole life And it just walked in wearing a long leather coat

Additional Notes:
This poem was posted on poetry.com but it has not been published as far as I know, but don't hold that against it. I did not know that they were a scam until recently. I wrote this for my sister to give to her boyfriend.
