Heart of Light

The sun lifts off night's blankets, stretches her rays, and rises in sleepy pastels  until she is ready to smile her brightness on the earth. She lets the breeze play with her sunbeam wand  and partners the dew in its tiptoe trip around the grass to scatter tiny jewels. She greets a hilly friend, dressed in soft lush-leaf gown, with waterfall hair cascading  toward a willow in weeping whose fingertips brush the ground. Our sun plays hide-and-seek among the forest trees, dazzling their emerald scarves and affirming their graceful arms that wave and branch out to each other. She spotlights boldly hued tulips who nod to the rhythm of a lilting tune as neighboring daffodil dancers  become the gold stars  of spring's grand entrance. Ah, the winds sigh now and clouds weep, grieving for the buried sun who claims her own resurrection in a rainbow spectrum. We greet her triumphant return and warm to her presence until other stars seduce night's soul with deep dark secrets that slow the applause of my heartbeat.

Additional Notes:
I claim poetic license to use partner as a verb! "Heart of Light" is meant to FLOW through an expression of some scenes the sun shares with me. Therefore there is not a regular rhythm nor rhyme.
