The Angel In My Life

There are angels in this world. They're around us everyday. Though they don't have wings and halos, As paintings will convey. They are hidden in the hearts Of certain people that we know And if you share some kindness You may see that angel show. There is a light that shines within A certain someone I have met. You rarely see this kind of light It's something you won't forget. He has touched my heart so deeply With his kindness and his charm And he tries so very desperately To keep me safe from harm. I've never really shared my dreams With any man I've known I share my fears; he comforts me And assures I'm not alone. He shows so much compassion To the pain within my soul And often when I shed a tear His cannot be controlled. I owe him quite a lot, you see For staying by my side. For he could have left me long ago When he said our love had died. Instead, he watches over me And tells me not to fear For if I ever need a friend He always will be near. I see an angel in this man Although he has no wings. I'm blessed to have him in my life For all the love and joy he brings.
