The Canvas

Water color pictures and faded memories Are cluttering up my mind And spilling through my eyes. Shades of red and blue Stain my canvas face; Hiding signs of youth And smearing it with age. Diluted by resistance And mental disarray,  Memories of my past Reluctantly fade to gray. Faced now with reality, and a vision of what's to come. A new image shelters me-- I think I'll despise this one.
