A Poet's Truth

Would you forgive a poet,   His eyes fixed on romance, For letting truth escape his stare   And honesty his glance? For always seeing clearly   Those things not really there, For saying that he loves you,   Confusing love with care? It may be true he loves you   Although it should be known, Poets have no flare for truth   So they create their own.

Confusing love with care? An error I have made more than once.Does that make me a poet? I guess poets strive to see things from different angles. Poets have no flare for truth So they create their own The same could be said of scientists, the road to truth is littered with self deception. Forgiven.
