Our Ocean

Remember when I sat with you, In the middle of the sea. On that boat with nothing 'round us Except for you, and you and me? The silence, it was golden. Perfect in ev'ry part. For the sound the ocean makes Is only heard by one’s heart. I found a shell that day, You now wear it ‘round your neck. In it lies our love, Where it lies safe from any wreck. Then one day you took a boat To a land, so far it lies. You laughed and said "Don't shed a tear!" But I had sand all in my eyes. She told me that no matter where she went, Regardless of her motion. That every time she’d use that shell She’d always hear the ocean.
