The First Time Ever I Saw You

Innocent peace shrouds a tiny face, looking trustingly toward my voice. A scent of heaven lingers on your skin; celestial stars twinkle in your eyes. Your creation so perfect... could you have come from within me? Surely, one of heaven's cherubs lay in my arms, so sweet and serene. You are complete, yet part of me... your life a favor of God's Love... a gracious gift given to teach me how to touch tenderness in trust. An angelic smile melts all reservations my heart might harbor to motherhood. Complete devotion grips my heart,  as I cuddle you closer in my arms. A tiny hand grasps my finger tightly, as your rosebud mouth contentedly  sucks the milk from my breast; fulfilling my new maternal joy. There will never come another moment like the first time ever I saw your face. As I beheld you, a soft blanket of purest love wrapped itself gently around my heart. This first glimpse is indelibly etched upon the mirror of our future.  The bond, which began nine months ago, is complete and eternally sealed. Though the bond will soften and change, as you find an individual road to travel;  it will continue to tie our hearts together for a lifetime and even beyond. Surely, angels marvel at your beauty. So, sleep softly, my newborn babe, as I stroke your downy little head, dreaming of memories we will share.
