A PICTURE

God, painted me a picture,   His conception of a river great. So clear, so vast and vivid,   no man could ever duplicate. Scenes like an artist's studio,   no description can be told. But man, the appraiser must award,   each picture, 'The Medal Gold'. I absorb the scenery before,   I descend from her high banks. Views exhilarate and excite me,    as first I pause to give Him thanks. Trees that line her edges   change in many shades of green. Timbers on the hillsides,   standing steadfast, tall and lean. Water surface in early morning appear   in silver tints of liquid grey. Then brighten to more brilliant blues,   as sun lightens up the day. Iridescence through the day,   blends hues of color in so bright. The blue colors darken and turn   more ginger along toward night. Evening turns back to shadowed grey,   as darkness fades it back to black. As the sun rises the next morning,   God the artist, invites me back.
