Meditation

Thoughts are free as air. I plucked quite a few yesterday as I sat, Buddha-like, contemplating my naval. I watched them roll by, an unending string  of intellectual gibberish be-bopping through the universe in short-wave radio bursts. I picked one or two, let the rest march past, all the time wondering who thought them before I did? Who? Thoughts are free as air, spit out into the world like dribble off an old man's chin, chaff chewed, regurgitated  endlessly. I threw mine back. They were too small, mere minnows in the shallows of an ocean of thought. Thoughts are purely air, filling heads to bursting  with the past tense and the future perfect till some fine day, snagged on life's jagged edges we 'pop.' Better to bury yesterday, not churn over endless possible tomorrows. because now is where god speaks and I only exist right now.
