Dearest Mother of Man

Mothers need no monuments or statues made of stone, their memories lean on pillars of love wherein their hearts have grown. Their love has lead the children along up through the growing years, they've held a small hand on the darkest night and gave courage against all fears. They pleaded with daddy not to be too harsh on the child who had made a mistake, and worked awful hard to put together the childs first birthday cake. My, how proud she must have been at graduation time, with a smile on her face when she told someone that child in the front is mine. Yes, you'll have to give her credit she's gone as far as she can, and earned her name in the book of life, as "Dearest Mother of Man".

Additional Notes:
Though my mother has been gone a few years, I wrote this in her memory. I thought this would be a good time to place it here, for Mothers Day.
