SIX OF NINE

Speak to me master Speak to me of my thoughts Let me know from your wings of alabaster About things I know naught It seems I cannot control nor summon And things in my mind I cannot keep Tell me master where my thoughts come from And in the end let me know when to sleep Are these thoughts just from the air Do they come in on winds unknown Some of my thoughts seem to have flair Some of these thoughts can make a poem One great mind well respected In the beginning of free thought Believed we were all of the same collective So in Jung this idea was bought Free thought was called the collective unconscious That all minds and all paths are of one Perhaps then you will grow into lush And understand we're all of the same sum And so my master now I understand That even love and hatred abide From within my mind I have this land From all my thoughts I cannot hide

Additional Notes:
This is a re-write thanks to the critiquers who pointed out areas that needed to be adjusted. This poem, in part [and where the title comes from], is based on Jung and the TV show Star Trek Voyager. Six of Nine is a former member of a Collective. I am sure that the originator of this series had Karl Jung in mind.
