Car Wash

There I sit and wait at the carwash Watching the man with the vacuum brush Old crime and dirt by water embraced Traces of spills and drills erased Sparkling new at the other end Dried and polished by a working hand With nothing to do I started to dream While my car gets oh so sparkling clean I dream of a wash just for mankind Where the soul finds a place to unwind To heal wounds and erase the pains To loose the torture of binding chains Sickness of mind and body would disapear Light as a feather we would appear To start over with a clean slate To laugh and play with a new mate The man is calling, the car is done My daydream, my vision is all gone Reality is here; I'm back in time My car looks new and very fine Driving away, all pleased with my car My dream and reality are apart to far I forget the image that entered my mind Still, I seek Humanity that is gentle and kind

Additional Notes:
My carwash is very slow, this gives me a lot of time to think. I wrote the first draft of the poem on the back of my dublicate checks, due to lack of paper. In our so stressful and busy times, I think it is important to reflect on our inner self. I hoped to get a light hearted impression in the first and last stanza. Just like life, it is not always that serios.
