HOOKIE

It pleases me, it soothes my soul,   to slither down to my favorite fishin' hole. From work and chores, I'll go play 'hookie',   for a Rainbow, a Brown, or maybe a Brookie. To feel a Brook trout, with all his might,   captured ounce for ounce, no finer fight. Or see a Rainbow trout do a fast taildance,   and watch his ballet, for his final chance. Or maybe feel the strike of a big lunker Brown,   as he hits my fly and he sucks it down. All appreciated equal, each one wild and free,   each very special, each captivating me. So to please myself and to soothe my soul,   I'm slithern' down to my favorite fishin' hole. Leaving work and chores behind, playin' hookie,   for a Rainbow, a Brown, or maybe a Brookie.

Additional Notes:
For those unfamiliar with flyfishing, Rainbow trout, Brown trout and Brook trout are all different species, but all can be fished the same way. Though they are all different in their own way with various colors and characteristics, each one is as much fun to catch as the other. (As the saying goes, "A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!")
