God and Hope.......

Not a choice, or a voice,      Conceived/delivered anyway.      Neglect/abuse...no Dr. Seuss...      Kids ain't 'pposed to hurt this way!      From tot to teen - with no esteem;      Ditto: dignity and pride.      One more savage takes advantage...      Is her answer - suicide?      Trades her soul, for rings of gold,      So as to escape the rape.      But her savior - turns to slaver...      Just another Macho ape!      Bloodied, bruised, belittled, used;      Glimpsing oft' the gates of hell.      No relief from man or beast;      God is begged - and cursed as well.      Then one day she makes him pay;      Ne'er to hit or hurt again!      Finally free, but scared to flee;      Shunned by family and friends.      Blamed, maligned, an' now confined;      Sinking deeper in the pit.      Atone alone in prison home;      None here or there who give a shit!      Meets a friend who can't condemn;      One who more than understands.      Soon she dares to share and care;      Trust and listen - hold a hand.      Sympathizing; empathizing;      Bobbing in their common boat.      Giving, living, and forgiving...      Ne'ermore forsaking...God or hope!

Additional Notes:
Since the O.J. fiasco - the subjects in some of these cases have been reevaluated, acquited, and released...proving that sometimes 'justice' is in fact accomplished.
