Sesame Street Sonata

Cookie Monster Me not stupid. Me take ESL on Tuesdays, eat good : broccoli, pasta, apples. Cookies just for showbiz, me real neat, no crumbs on me at home, no mad, no crazy. Me play cribbage, me feed fish, me nice. Me normal blue fuzzy guy. Bert Here's my life, OK? a halfwit for a friend, my bottle cap collection, a hand inside my pants all day. Sure I'm dour, I want a life of square edges, surprise-free. Blame me? Kermit Humans make my green limbs twitch. The price of top billing, insouciance. I kiss their pink butts, get my own show. Big Bird I'm in therapy. Really. In every big bird there's a little bird looking for mommy. Elmo Elmo wants your attention, now. Elmo likes his life. Elmo talks like this because Elmo is important. Humans like my Elmo™ dolls My Elmoware™. Elmo likes his life. Chorus We work for scale, recite our jive: "Can you spell that?" "Psst, wanna buy a five?" We're just like you, just smaller, dacron, do our jobs, go home, pay bills, watch soaps, eat meals alone, cry over lost chances, reflect, atone, get up, do it again.
