Loon's Song

Moon's light trapped by time and mist of morn Lay soft and cool upon the silvered lake Where longingly a loon's song rose, wild horn To sing her loneliness, recall her absent mate. My tremulous contralto echoed loud Upon your pillow as we lay as one Our bodies interwoven, love avowed Through passions heat, my lonely heart unstrung. Yet still, a hunger lasts within for he Who is no longer here. Insatiable  I cry out as a child for more: To be Enslaved again, my need not slakable. The loon and I in longing joined as one Rest on our waterbeds, await the sun.
