Raindrops Of Doubt

I spent hours listening to tapes That welcomed me to the future and Told me how unique and valuable I Was and how free to make my own Choices and live my life authentically. I was boosted upward in that wave Of my own personal uniqueness, Hypnotized in my green meadows and Rolling hills and mesmerized by Nature sounds and "New Age" music. And I swallowed it whole...I truly Believed it...that my own mind could  Make me whatever I wanted to be in  That quiet place inside myself... But who of us can live for long in That quiet place inside ourselves? I went shopping on a Saturday at a Crowded mall and lost my "uniqueness" In less than ten minutes.            Raindrops of doubt           Pelt my spirit down           In a full-blown storm           Of doubts I drown.

Additional Notes:
Actually, I do believe our minds are very powerful--but then so is self-doubt.
