An Old Woman Sitting On Her Porch

She looks with age blind eyes, the street reviews and sees no rushing outside scene, no life, but lives in inner vistas, there midife's old pictures of her youth, old joys renewed. Preserved in memories as in amber fine she speaks of well loved friends long gone to dust and wanders through her childhood home, the rust of years has eaten at her painful times. Alone at last, she fears not her cold shroud nor what's beyond, her faith has her prepared: A small child playing with her dolls she shares the joys of clouds and rainbows, laughs aloud.      Unheeding of our curious stares she steers      Her vessel towards those final, early years.
