BIRTHDAY WISHES

19APR67 I'll never forget my birthday card,  which came from Washington DC. More like an official job offer,  which didn't seem that exciting to me. "Travel opportunities await you,  see the world while recieving top pay. You'll get room and board while earning,  three gourmet squares a day." "No experience needed, no education  or special skills to be required. Best opportunities for advancement,  awarded to those first to be hired." "To recieve instructions that follow,  just sign your name on this draft. One-way tickets will arrive to you,  and tell where to board your aircraft." "You may fly a plane, sail a ship,  or camp along rivers in a foreign land. We'll hone your skills and show you how,  to stand tall above any man." "You'll get a gun, you'll learn to  shoot, and become all that you can be. You'll be America's finest, proud to  defend our country to keep it free." "Signing the dotted line early,  reserves a seat on our government bus. For your convenience, 'No Postage Needed'  just return this card to us." "Congratulations, fellow contryman,  Happy Birthday wishes today! You turn 18 only once in a lifetime....."               Signed,               General Westmoreland,               Uncle Sam & President L.B.J.
