The Darkness

Alone I walk thru the darkness; Wrapped in the arms of night. Searching for forbidden kisses; That will take me away from the light. I feel the pain wash round me. I call out, and beg for release. He comes from the darkness to sooth me. I know that in death I’ll find peace. His hands are like magic upon me. He pull’s me into his embrace. I beg for the moment of pleasure, That will signal my fall from grace. He covers me there in the darkness, This being who can’t stand the day. He drains me with nary a whisper. I feel my life slipping away. Drink deeply I plead in the darkness. Drink deeply, till agony wanes. Drink deeply till nothing is left here. Till blood… washes away all my pain. But, fate and he are cruel masters. To leave me alone with my life. Left to face forever in darkness. Pain; I couldn’t bear in the light.

Additional Notes:
I have changed the title of this poem (back and forth several times) from "The Darkness" to "Vampire." I would like input on which title to use.
