Expectations

           ~~  Expectations shiny and new                                  expectations with dust to accrue                                                                                           Silly little boy blue                                       telling the corn adieu                                                                                                     Medusa with her hair askew                                  Snow White's mirror's interview                                                                                              You and I playing peekaboo                                with what is and what we pursue                              Disappointment to rendezvous                                  disappointment to breakthrough                                                                                           Jimmy Carter's smile won't construe                           anymore than the win for BYU                                                                                             Turning fables into an overview                               or Eeyore's advice to little Pooh                                                                                        Pretty patience, pretty view                                  ugly frailties, ugly imbue                                  Toss expectations to Timbuktu                                 search instead for the real issue                                                                                        Living life under a thumbscrew                                only leads to undervalue                                                                                                 Others, self and the world too                                are better served with virtue                                                                                            Seeking for what may not debut                                leaves us frustrated, values eschew    Lancelot's search will continue                               leaving false for clearer true    Expectations given overvalue                                   take from us the real issue
