Fifty Four

Dawn waxes, silver permeates. World of darkness, lonely night. Eyes search, night terminates. The misty vision of regained sight. Another day, another year over, One more page of the calendar turned. The window shows, fields of clover. Yesterday’s weeds stacked and burned. Looking forward, with assurance. Optimism follows doubt. Still there’s pain, but now endurance Quells the urge to cry or shout. Quiet, peaceful,  world in slumber. Natures breath, the stillness breaks. Last century’s tree, reduced to lumber. Plant three more for future’s sake. Wheel turns, life resumes. Paths beckon. left or right? Mindful of burdens the shoulder assumes. Tread with wisdom, aged sight. Ever  questions, where will it end? What lies in the year ahead? Experience life, loved like a friend. Depart with knowledge, there’ll  be things unsaid.
