Reopening

~~~~ Lying here so close to you, I push my knees against the wall of endless pride that has  separated for too long.  I inch my arm over the vast expanse of covered looks and words thought but not said.  My toes reach out to find a loose stone that I can kick away  from the mortar of disappointment and settled misconceptions.  I hold my breath and then blow softly across the chasm of forgetfulness and the expansive neglect, to you. Will you feel my touch and my feeble attempt at bridge building?  Are the nights too cold and the heated words still too warm?  If my palm finds your belly and rests there will you pull away?  If my heaping heart spills its anguished fear over your dam will you turn a moist cheek from me?  My body responds as a man's body will do but can you understand the want is for all of you?  Cast away misgivings rest your head upon my chest. Bury mistakes while I caress your breast. Heal our failures with natures pleasant balm take my kisses as I offer them, teardrops of repentance. Love me with your body but heal me with your heart's  reopening.
