Sonogram

We have walked across the moon, seen the outer planets from our living rooms, sailed into space and home in tact... This and more your ghostly hand surpassed. Your image floating on a dark screen  changes everything. You are too vast (even at ten centimeters) to surmise. Already you have rearranged our minds, shook us, flooded us, and made us dance. Now for five long months to come you sleep suspended in a universe we glimpsed by chance (that passes daily on the street, barely disguised), frailer and more enduring than we dared to guess.
