Dancing in the Rain Racing outdoors greeting the raindrops as I'd greet a welcome friend, I glance at the grey colored clouds, face upturned, giggling ,my mouth gaping open, catching the cool refreshing water as it trickled down, cascading as if from a waterfall. My sun bleached hair now limp as a ragdoll, delights in it's dampness. Shivering with pleasure as the warming shower caresses my soul, filling me with joy, renewal of hope, life is good. Raindrops become larger, forming puddles beneath my barren feet, dancing with delight as the mud seeps between my toes. Flitting like a firefly I welcome the rebirth of childhood, dancing without inhibition, singing silly songs, free as one can be. Lost in the mystical world of pretend, I achieved the sense of innocence I had long ago |
