A portion of His love.....

She pulled well off the road and watched the cars come to a rest. The air defiled with dirt and smoke; her heartbeat filled her chest. Although her mother held her back, she knew she had to see; How many suffering - or worse...Oh God, how could this be! She reached the tangled wreck and heard both sobbing-cries and shrieks! A young woman with a child, was too traumatized to speak. She gently took the little one, and held it to her breast; the little head was drenched in blood; sobs labored from its chest. She wiped the blood and mucus from the baby's little face; instinctively, though cuddling, she kept the babe awake. The young mom seated on the curb was comforting a son; ignoring her own injuries to see if he had some. The ambulance fin'lly arrived, along with the police. A medic took the little one - its little heart still beat.     How will the tragic story end? Perhaps she'll never know.     The blood on blouse and hands and cheek, remains an after-glow.     And what if she had driven on, as she was urged to do?     What chance might the babe have had...had she not followed through?     Perhaps a little like the man en route to Jerico:     Though robbed and beaten - left to die; two saw...and left him so.     Then came the good Samaritan, compassion in his heart;     who bound his wounds, and saw him safe, before he could depart. Was God just testing Angel's heart, which He'd filled from Above; to see how wisely she might spend...a portion of His Love?

Additional Notes:
A real occurance, with no clue as to the little victim's fate.
