The Coward & The Lady It was enough said, enough done, it was over. Reflecting back over the past Anxiety mounted inside, She crumbled for an instant realizing how long he had lied. Bandaging his wounded spirit had been her goal, trying much too hard to fix this troubled soul. Love began as love should, reality was the fact it never could - be real love. At best they got through years playing at husband and wife, misery sustained them as they wasted too much time in their life on trying to make it better. Better never came, she wore a mask to hide her shame and to cover her broken spirit - He would never know how ill he made her feel - incapable of feeling anything that was real. Tired of fighting the same battle over and over again, she vowed to change her life, needed to figure out just when The right time was never right, sadly she retreated Then he made his last mistake, broke the law and was forced to take his punishment for hurting her The last night they were together remains a blur Strength has taken hold of her Newfound opportunities abound She sleeps quietly now, because he's not around. Enough said, enough done it's finally over. |
