Sacred Land

The crimson Mars portrays a starry gloom, And nations tremble, children weep. The god of war has cast a veil of doom, Upon the land that is sacred and true. The ancient warrior takes up his steed, And the winds of the west blow wistfully. The legacy of hate begins to seed, Upon the land that is sacred and true. Silent soldiers stride into a crevasse, Where fate slips into a trance, And time itself seems unwilling to pass, Upon the land that is sacred and true. The maudlin masses cry for salvation, While destruction descends upon all, And the wicked are freed from redemption, Upon the land that is sacred and true. Modern warfare defiles true valor, And widows shut their eyes to the truth, The young soldiers portray a deathly pallor, Upon the land that is sacred and true.
