Partner in the Hunt

I feel for you Truly I do It is not easy to let go Of something you love He was your friend Your partner in the hunt In his own way he knew You cared and loved him too Remember the days When the two of you Walked through the woods How he would point for you Yet, let you fetch  Out of the water for him Remember those wet kisses Left grasciously on your cheek How happy he was to greet you There is no pain in death Only release from the pain felt You set your friend free To run, point, fetch again In your heart you know You eased his pain Someday you will meet again
