Foreboding

Like a creature of the night I sit up, wide eyed, in my bed Scared to move from fright I fear my soul is dead My mind is still sleeping I can't think straight Could I be dreaming? No, I am awake Searching for my lamp My hand grasps the night The air around me is cold and damp I struggle to find some light It is then that I realise   That everything is gone I struggle to adjust my eyes What on earth could be wrong? All I saw was my shadow Cast from an unknown light How could this be so? I shuddered at the sight I heard a voice near by It drew closer with every breath "Guess where you are and why Heaven? Hell? or Just entering death?" I still couldn't think "No more questions? amazing!" It took bringing you to this rank Unable to move I just stood gazing The voice stopped as if hit by the light beam The darkness was gone but I still couldn't see I then awoke in my room, for it was all a dream So real, yet I questioned again, how could it be?

Additional Notes:
I'm leaving this entire piece up to the reader. I want the reader to attempt at interpurting my message. My punctuation in this piece is there merely to note where to pause, emphasis, and breaks. Anything I felt unnessary I didn't add. I suggest reading twice. Also, my quotation marks are off I know, but thats only because I couldn't write "he said" "I said" after everything. This is also another thing left to the reader to deal with...who is really speaking. Thanks for reading
